Kevin Mixon - Biographical Information

Kevin Mixon currently teaches instrumental music at Blodgett K-8 School, Syracuse City Schools, New York. His instrumental groups with diverse student membership regularly receive the highest ratings at festivals and are widely recognized for achievement. Mr. Mixon regularly presents internationally at conferences, as well as state and local conventions and in-services. His articles regularly appear in Music Educators Journal, Teaching Music, and The Instrumentalist. He is also author of Reaching and Teaching All Instrumental Music Students and contributing author to Teaching Music in the Urban Classroom: A Guide to Survival, Success, and Reform and Teacher to Teacher: A Music Educator’s Survival Guide (all MENC/ Rowman & Littlefield Publications). His compositions for band and orchestra, written for all skill levels and interests, are available through Alfred Publishing.
