Teaching Both Hands: Skill-Based Strategies for Middle/High School Strings

Clinic Synopsis:

Gain ideas on how to improve the sound of your middle or high school string ensemble through the use of teaching strategies that develop and expand technique. Both right and left hand skills will be addressed in this "action-packed session."

Kirk Moss - Biographical Information

Kirk D. Moss is associate professor and chair of the music education department at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, WI. He serves as president of the 10,000-member American String Teachers Association. He has appeared as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator in over twenty-five states. In 2008, the University of Florida (Gainesville) School of Music awarded Moss an “Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award.” Also, one of his former high schools, honors him annually by awarding a college string scholarship, in his name. Moss is also a coauthor of "Sound Development for Intermediate String Orchestra," by Alfred Publishing.
