Rehearsal Techniques: Blue-Collar Podium Strategies

Clinic Synopsis:

This clinic is designed with the young director in mind, although topics will be very relevant for any conductor. Daily rehearsals must be built on a number of fundamental premises, including quality repertoire, basic individual skills, ensemble skills, and a good podium strategy. Creating good intonation, a good ensemble tone, acceptable dynamic range, accurate articulation, attacks and releases, and most of all, quality music-making, are the focus of the session.
