Music teaching and learning requires a developed skill called critical listening, yet most rehearsal spaces fall short in their ability
to foster this skill. The session focuses on four critical elements
related to the fundamental requirements of the music suite, and will give you the ability to not only understand what you need, but be able to communicate why you need these fundamental requirements to get to the ultimate goal - a successful and functional music suite. We will also review both the basics of acoustical requirements for music learning and investigate ways in which many shortfalls can be addressed through new, innovative acoustical treatment solutions.
Michael Ferch
- Biographical Information
Michael has been with the Wenger Corporation since 1988 and currently holds the position of District Sales Manager in the K-12 and College/University market. His music background includes professional performance, private percussion instruction, performance group management, and directing and arranging for his church’s worship team and youth choirs. His life-long involvement in and love of music stem directly from the positive experiences gained as a member of his school band and choral programs and the guidance and encouragement of those programs' directors.
Denny Meyer is a Product Manager for Acoustic Products with Wenger Corporation. During His 28-year career at Wenger, he has held various sales and marketing positions along with helping author several Wenger Planning Guides, including Acoustic Problems and Solutions for Rehearsal and Practice Spaces. Meyer has presented planning seminars for music facilities at conferences of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International, and the Music Educators National Conference. He received his B.A. degree in Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and is a graduate of the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
