Wayne Bergeron - Biographical Information

Wayne Bergeron is one of the most active trumpet players in the world. In 1986, he landed the lead trumpet position with the Maynard Ferguson Big Band, where he was praised as “the most musical lead trumpet player [Ferguson] ever had on [his] band.” Since then, he has been on some of Los Angeles’ most well respected bands and has recorded with Quincy Jones, Gordon Goodwin, Arturo Sandoval, and many more. He has recorded with artists from Ray Charles to Green Day and on more than 300 television and film soundtracks, and his featured trumpet solos can be heard in many of these. In 2004, Wayne released his first solo effort, You Call This a Living? The project earned him accolades including a GRAMMY nomination in 2004 for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. His subsequent recordings met with similar acclaim. Wayne is regularly featured with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Orchestra.
