Articulation, Balance and Blend With Keyboard Percussion Instruments in Concert Band

Clinic Synopsis:

My clinic will focus on the technical and musical percussion skills required for performing percussion keyboard instruments. I will discuss choices that will help develop a quality percussion keyboard performance to compliment the band. I will perform excerpts from Symphonic Concert Band literature to demonstrate timbral shifts with mallet choices and instrument placement in the band. A handout will illustrate fundamental techniques of performing on marimba, xylophone, vibraphone and chimes.
