Accepting Applications for the Position of Executive Director

The Executive Director will in many ways be the face of the Midwest Clinic. Event-planning skills and experience would be helpful and preferred. Public school music-teaching background or equivalent is required. The Executive will report directly to the Board of Directors and will perform other duties as assigned by the President on behalf of the Board. A Master’s Degree or higher is preferred. The Executive Director responsibilities will include:

  • Compliance by Performing Groups of concert programs for conference
  • Communications with directors and performing groups and clinicians
  • Creating the master schedule
  • Assignment of rooms and venues
  • Assignment of liaisons and personnel to introduce concerts and clinics
  • Supervision of office and personnel, budget responsibilities and oversight   
  • Marketing activities (including social media)
  • Hiring an intern and part-time staff for peak season
  • Preparing and administering the March meeting for selection of performing groups and
  • Planning of December clinic, March meeting, and June tour for directors of conference- performing ensembles in cooperation with Logistics Coordinator
  • Knowledge of technology and software programs available for management
  • Represent Midwest Clinic at affiliate events and conferences, experience with strategic

Salary Negotiable. Contract begins not later than February 1, 2020.
