Meet Lawrence Markiewicz

Since 2018 Dr. Lawrence Markiewicz has held the post of Associate Professor of Music at Independence Community College in southeast Kansas.  Prior to coming to Kansas, Dr. Markiewicz worked in New York and North Jersey for many years where he served as artistic director and lead conductor for New York’s premier el sistema “The Harmony Program”   Dr. Markiewicz holds a DMA in orchestral conducting from Rutgers University (2019) and a Master’s degree in wind band conducting from Montclair State University (2015).
