Bradley Middle School Jazz Band

  • The Bradley Middle School Jazz Band is an award winning ensemble that is part of the Bradley Middle School Band program. This ensemble has a rich history of jazz education and accolades since its inception in 1982 with the opening of Bradley Middle School. Much of the success of this ensemble is due in part to its lineage of directors have been active professional performers and educators in and around the world. It's previous directos include: Larry Schmidt, Dale Shultz, Ed Giemer, John Goforth, Manny Maldonado, Jett Walker, Emily Gurwitz and Karlos Elizondo. They have consistently earned top honors and various competitions and because of their Midwest accomplishment, they are now proud to be considered a nationally recognized Jazz program. Under Mr. Elizondo's direction, the Bradley Jazz Band has been invited to several Universities and High Schools in the South Central Texas area to perform and showcase their talents with the hosting institutions ensembles. Emily Guritz serves as the Director of Bands and Karlos Elizondo serves as the Assistant Band Director.

  • Karlos Elizondo serves as the Associate Director of Bands and the Director of Jazz Bands at Bradley Middle School (NEISD) in San Antonio, TX and is completing his 12th year of teaching. He attended Texas State University in San Marcos, TX for his undergraduate degree and is also in the process of completing his graduate degree from Texas State University as well. Karlos Elizondo is still quite active on the professional performance scene and has become one of the areas "top call" lead trumpet players. He has performed with Broadway National Musical Tours and National touring artists such as The 4 Tops, the Temptations, Johnny Mathis, Frankie Valli, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and many others. He is also the current arranger and Lead trumpet player for The GAP Band and the Lead Trumpet player for the Brent Watkins Orchestra.
