Performer Bio Synopsis

The Clark High School Fine Arts Department is the largest enrolled fine arts department in the Clark County School District of Nevada. Our school community believes that the arts are an important component of a complete education. It is the goal of the fine arts department to have every student at Clark High School engage in a fine arts course during their tenure at Clark. The Clark High School Chamber Orchestra is an audition only ensemble with a current enrollment of 26. Rehearsals occur twice a week, after school. It is a student led ensemble, with musical decisions made by vote. The instructors act as coaches not traditional authoritative conductors. This ensemble has never received less than a superior rating at Festivals locally and nationally. They also serve as the community outreach group for the orchestra program, in demand for all manner of community functions. These performances are the primary source of fundraising for the Clark Orchestra program, Clark Orchestra alumni have attended or currently attend such prestigious universities as the Julliard School of Music, the Peabody Conservatory, the Curtis Institute of Music, Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Northwestern, and many more colleges and universities. Clark Orchestra students are valedictorians, salutatorians and club presidents. They are involved in every athletic team and are active with the Clark NJROTC program. The Clark High School Chamber Orchestra is dedicated to performing music at the very highest level emphasizing the importance of commitment and rigor while encouraging humanistic ideals.
