Performer Bio Synopsis

The Coral Springs Middle School Jazz Band is recognized as one of the finest Middle School Jazz Band programs in the state of Florida. The CSMS Jazz Band consists of about 25 of the most talented musicians at CSMS, and membership in one of the two ensembles is by audition only. Since Jazz Band is totally extra-curricular, students and parents dedicate many extra hours before and after school for rehearsals and performances. Under the direction of Mr. Piccinelli the CSMS Jazz Band has consistently received Superior ratings at district evaluations as well as other numerous awards and honors, and in 2013, the Band was invited to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association annual Conference in Tampa. In addition, this group actively supports our school and community by promoting Jazz Education in the local Elementary Schools, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and for special events such as the 2014 Martin Luther King Celebration in Coral Springs, FL, and the Annual WW2 Veterans Day service in Boca Raton, FL. Many of our students have been accepted to the All-County and All-State Concert and Jazz Bands. The main goal of the CSMS Jazz Program is to promote jazz education, and to excite Middle School students about learning to explore their creativity through improvisation.
