Performer Bio Synopsis

The Chattahoochee Quartet is a student-led quartet made up of Boss Lee (soprano saxophone), Alex Lochamy (alto saxophone), Shihona Okazaki (tenor saxophone), and Fabrizio Petriati (baritone saxophone). All students of the Chattahoochee High School Band program under the direction of Nicholas Garofalo and Matthew Crisman. The group has received coaching from Dr. Joe Girard from Schwob School of Music, Dr. Brandon Quarles from UGA, and the director of Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, Dr. Stewart. Formed in the Spring of 2023, the group has performed in many different venues in the community including senior homes, festivals, and formal concerts. The group has also been invited to perform with the Schwob School of Music Saxophone Studio in 2023. Boss Lee is a senior at Chattahoochee High School and he is an active member of the Wind Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, and marching band as woodwind music captain. Beyond school, he's secured top spots in the Fulton County Honor Band, District 5 Honor Band, and GMEA All State Band as the first chair alto saxophonist. He was selected for Georgia's Governor's Honors Program (GHP 60), Interlochen Saxophone Intensive and was runner up in the Atlanta Wind Symphony Concerto Competition. He's also a member of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Scott Stewart. Boss has worked with many conductors including Dr. Steven Davis, Jaclyn Hartenberger, Frank Ticheli, and Dr. David Kehler in addition to Dr. Stewart of AYWS. Boss's mentors include Dr. Joe Girard from Columbus State University, Dr. William Chien from Southwestern Adventist University, Matthew Crisman, Nicholas Garofalo, and Erin Keeney. Aside from music, Boss is starting his 4th year as student coach for nationally ranked middle school cross country team. Alex Lochamy is a senior at Chattahoochee High School as a talented multi-instrumentalist. With experiences in percussion and saxophone, she has been a part of the marching band, wind ensemble, indoor drumline, and pit orchestra. She held many leadership roles including alto saxophone section leader and concert band leadership. Aside from music, she is an avid artist, specializing in Henna tattoos, and loves traveling the world and exploring new places. Shihona Okazaki is a junior at Chattahoochee High School and joined the community in 2023 from Japan. She has been selected for GMEA District 5 Honor Band and is an active member of the marching band and wind ensemble. She also participates in many chamber ensembles including saxophone quartet, saxophone ensemble, and wind quintet as a clarinetist. Aside from music, Shihona enjoys crocheting, painting, and collecting plushies. Fabrizio is a junior at Chattahoochee High School he is an active member of the marching band, wind ensemble, indoor drumline, and jazz band. He was selected for GMEA District 5 Honor Band in 2023 on tenor saxophone. Aside from music, Fabrizio enjoys traveling and soccer.

Conductor's Bio

Matthew Crisman is proud to serve Chattahoochee High School as Associate Director of Bands. A graduate of the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music (BM, Education) and the Texas Tech School of Music (MM, Saxophone Performance), Crisman has explored the realm of high-level music making on the stage of nationally adjudicated competitions and conference performances. With this mindset and experience, he seeks to motivate young musicians to achieve their highest potential in a supportive, positive atmosphere. Crisman’s experience as a competitive saxophonist has taken him and his ensembles through the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the Music Teacher’s National Association, the North American Saxophone Alliance, the Texas Tech Concerto Competition, the Georgia Music Educators Association, the Texas Music Educators Association and several other organizations. Crisman’s primary instructors have included Dr. Connie Frigo, David Dees, Dr. Jaclyn Hartenberger, Dr. Sarah McKoin, Mike Walsh and Alexander Krakovski. Crisman maintains relationships with the North American Saxophone Alliance, the Georgia Music Educators Association, and the Kappa Kappa Psi Music Service Fraternity. In addition to his duties at Chattahoochee, Crisman serves as alto saxophonist for the Atlanta Wind Symphony, a clinician for young saxophonists, and loves to spend time with his wife, baby and their menagerie of pets.
