Meet Hunter Lewis

Hunter Lewis is a conductor and music educator currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, he has guest conducted the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, and Concert Band while assisting with conducting classes and marching band instruction. Previously, Lewis served as Director of Instrumental Music at I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and Visual Performing Arts from 2018–2025, where he led award-winning band and orchestra programs recognized with multiple UIL Sweepstakes Awards and a 2024 invitation to perform at the Music for All National Festival. He also developed partnerships with organizations including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Lewis has also held teaching positions at North Richland Middle School, Haltom High School, Lake Ridge High School, Broken Arrow Public Schools, and Hall Middle School. He earned degrees from Oklahoma State University and Texas Christian University and has worked with composers including John Mackey, Steven Bryant, Michael Daugherty, and David Maslanka.
