In 2015 Midwest initiated a series of clinic sessions focusing attention on the myriad of challenges facing educators teaching in Title I schools. This ground-breaking initiative brought together outstanding teachers, gifted students, and inspired administrators to provide resources and professional development opportunities for educators in these frequently under served music programs.
We expand upon this critical endeavor with the introduction of the LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE: ACHIEVEMENT IN DIVERSITY (L.E.A.D.) INITIATIVE. Rooted in the philosophy that all students can learn and that music has profound cognitive, social and emotional impacts, L.E.A.D. will continue to provide powerful resources for educators in challenging settings. The initiative will also recognize and showcase those individuals and organizations who L.E.A.D. the way in fostering success at all levels of instruction.
