Meet Jacob Lehman

Jacob Lehman is in his eighth year of teaching, and his third year as a band director in the Van Buren School District. After serving at Northridge Middle School for two years, he recently assumed the role of Band Director at Butterfield Trail Middle School. His primary responsibilities include directing the 8th grade band at BTMS, teaching beginning flute classes, and co-directing the Van Buren High School Symphonic Winds. Jacob has had the privilege of serving as a guest conductor for various band camps, honor bands, and community ensembles in Arkansas, most recently conducting the ASBOA Region IX All-Region Junior High Second Band in March 2021. He previously taught at Shiloh Christian School in Springdale where he was named Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2018. Jacob earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Arkansas Tech University in 2015, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the Alfred J. Crabaugh Outstanding Senior Award. While at Arkansas Tech, his primary teachers were Dr. Christopher Anderson (conducting) and Karen Futterer (flute). His wife of 7 years, Dr. Rachel Lehman, just completed her first year teaching mathematics at Van Buren High School.
