Meet Denny Bui

Denny Bui is in his sixth year of teaching and currently serves as the Director of Instrumental Music at Laguna Hills High School (LHHS) in Orange County, California. His classes include Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, String Orchestra, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and he oversees Winter Drumline and Winter Colorguard. Outside of his responsibilities at LHHS, he has the privilege of guest conducting the University of California, Irvine Wind Ensemble as well as conducting the Four Seasons Youth Wind Ensemble. He also is the Education Coordinator and a member of the trumpet section with the Catalyst Wind Collective, and works with the Long Beach Symphony as a video cue coordinator. Denny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach where he studied trumpet with Rob Frear and Dave Washburn. He has studied conducting with Dr. Jermie Arnold and is a current private student of Dr. John P. Lynch.
