A veteran public school music educator of 22 years and Secondary Fine Arts Coordinator in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, NV, for an additional 14 years where the secondary music elective program grew to over 55,000 participants, Marcia now serves as president of Music Education Consultants, Inc. This consortium of music education professionals works with a variety of educational organizations, arts associations, and school districts to foster the growth and breadth of standards-based, articulated music education programs.
 
In 2016, Marcia was named Senior Director of Education for Yamaha Corporation of America and subsequently, a Yamaha Master Educator. She serves as Education Advisor to the Music Achievement Council, a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to assist directors in recruiting and retaining students in instrumental music programs through effective professional development programs and complimentary materials. Neel also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Percussive Arts Society. Through these capacities, Marcia has provided innovative, interactive live and virtual sessions for directors, students and school music dealers in 43 states.
 
 
 
Robert Morrison

Robert B. Morrison has an extensive history as a supporter of music and arts education and is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading researchers and advocates for arts education. He is the founder and CEO of Quadrant Research, the nation’s preeminent arts education data analytics and market research firm. His leadership in research, public policy, and advocacy efforts have led to significant advancements in access to music and arts education programs in America. Quadrant Research is the lead partner on the National Arts Education Data Project.
 
 Morrison also serves as the Director of Arts Ed NJ, the statewide arts education policy group for New Jersey where he also served as managing partner for the groundbreaking New Jersey Arts Education Census Project, completing the first statewide census for arts education in every school building. Through this work, New Jersey has emerged as the leading state for arts education in the country. Under his leadership, Arts Ed NJ just launched the Center for Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning to highlight the powerful intersections between the two fields.
Mr. Morrison’s advocacy work has earned him both a Prime-Time EMMY and a Peabody Award. He received an honorary doctorate from the State University of New York for his work nationally to advance music and arts education for all children. Morrison is considered to be one of the nation’s leading experts in addressing how the music classroom can be a place for social and emotional growth.

Mary Luehrsen is director of public affairs and government relations for NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants and Executive Director of the NAMM Foundation. Luehrsen guides the organization as an international leader for music education and oversees policy and advocacy issues that impact global music product businesses. The NAMM Foundation focuses on supporting music research, and philanthropic and public service programs that advance music making opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. A former professional flutist and music teacher, Luehrsen acknowledges her inspiration to advocate for music education her first music teachers in rural Wisconsin and a belief that all children have the right to learn and grow with music.
