Performer Bio Synopsis
The William Mason High School Wind Symphony is part of a comprehensive music education program at William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio. The band department at William Mason High School serves over 400 students and consists of six curricular bands, a co-curricular marching band, two jazz ensembles, pep band, percussion ensembles, and many muti-faceted small ensembles. Combined with the six curricular orchestras and five curricular choirs, the music department at William Mason High School provides music making opportunities for over 1000 students.
Over the past 15 years, the Wind Symphony has had the honor of performing at the Midwest Clinic, the Music For All National Festival, Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference, Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Center, Cincinnati Music Hall, and Cleveland Severence Hall. The bands at William Mason High School are honored to be recipients of both the Sudler Flag and Sudler Shield.

Conductor's Bio
Micah Ewing works as a music educator in the Mason City School District in Mason, Ohio, where he serves as performing arts department chair, conducts the William Mason High School Wind Symphony, instructs AP Music Theory and marching band, and teaches beginning band at Mason Intermediate School. Prior to his 15 years in Mason, Ewing taught at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. Ewing earned bachelor of music degrees in music education and music performance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, the master of music degree in wind conducting from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and the doctor of musical arts degree in music education from Boston University. His doctoral research focused on a continuing passion: fostering collaboration between composers, student musicians, and music educators. As a husband and father of three children, Ewing enjoys spending time with his family. He draws inspiration from growing and cooking food, cycling, and reading.
