Performer Bio Synopsis

The Colleyville Heritage Wind Ensemble prides itself in being SUPERIOR, ALWAYS. The CHHS Wind Ensemble advanced to State Finals and placed 5th place in the TMEA Honor Band Competition in 2025. In the Spring of 2023, the CHHS Wind Ensemble performed at the Music For All National Festival. Along with the Wind Ensemble, the band program had an Oboe Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble perform separate concerts at the MFA National Festival. The CHHS Panther Marching Band is a perennial UIL Area Finalist and State Marching Band Participant.

Conductor's Bio

William Redd | Director of Bands Mr. Redd is in his thirteenth year as a music educator. He is serving his third year as Director of Bands at Colleyville Heritage High School. Prior to Colleyville Heritage, he served as the Associate Band Director at Grapevine High School, Assistant Band Director at Belton High School, and Elementary Band Director/High School Assistant Director in the Moon Area School District (PA). Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Mr. Redd received his Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University where he studied trumpet with Dr. Stephen Hawk and Mr. Joe Herndon. Mr. Redd’s Concert, Marching, and Jazz Ensembles receive division 1 ratings and have been regionally, state, and nationally recognized. The Grapevine HS Honors Band (NV) is a 3-time Citation of Excellence Winner as well as 3-time National Winner of the Medal of Distinction. Mr. Redd led the Grapevine High School Marching Band to their first Area Finals Performance in 20 years and their first Bands of America Class Championship, Finals appearance, and Caption Awards. Mr. Redd is an active teacher, clinician, and judge across the country. He has served as the Director of the Crossmen Winds (2016 WGI WIW Silver Medalist) and the Assistant Brass Caption Manager of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Currently Mr. Redd serves on the Brass Instructional Staff at the Santa Clara Vanguard. He has taught both indoor and outdoor ensembles including: The Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (Denver, CO); Rhythm X Winds (Dayton, OH); Norwin Marching Band (PA); Kiski Area Marching Band (PA); and Slippery Rock University Winter Guard (PA). Mr. Redd performed with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and was in the inaugural cast of the 2015 WGI World Champion, Rhythm X Winds as a featured soloist.
