Performer Bio Synopsis
Under the direction of Arturo Denis since 2015, the Creekview High School Band Program in Carrollton, Texas has cultivated a culture of excellence in music education. The program emphasizes high artistic standards, academic achievement, and student leadership, offering diverse opportunities through concert band, marching band, full orchestra, jazz ensemble, mariachi and chamber music.
The Vivaldi Quartet from Carrollton, TX includes Daniel Shin (soprano saxophone), Andrew Nguyen (alto saxophone), Reid Tilton (tenor saxophone), and Marcos Alvarado (baritone saxophone). The group has been performing together since 2023 under the leadership of Arturo Denis and Kevin Ford. Vivaldi, meaning “life” in Latin, reflects the ensemble’s belief in the life-giving and emotional power of music. Their performances aim to embody the spirit, passion, and expression that music brings to our lives.
The Vivaldi Quartet has been mentored by esteemed figures in the saxophone community including Christy Springer—a longtime educator and performer with the Dallas Winds—and Claire Salli, assistant professor at Texas A&M International University and an internationally recognized saxophonist. The quartet has earned Superior Division 1 ratings at the Region 31 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and has advanced each year to the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest. All members study privately with saxophone specialist Kevin Ford and rehearse consistently throughout the academic year.
The Creekview Saxophone Vivaldi Quartet is honored to perform at the 79th Annual Midwest Clinic and looks forward to sharing their passion, artistry, and “life in music” on this national stage.
