Performer Bio Synopsis

Lakeview Centennial High School is an A-Rated campus, determined by the Texas Education Agency, in Garland ISD serving a richly diverse student body in Garland, Texas. The school reflects the strength and vibrancy of its community, with 88% minority enrollment and 78% of students identified as economically disadvantaged. Despite a 0% private lesson participation rate, the LCHS Percussion Ensemble continues to produce outcomes that rival the most resourced programs in the state. Students consistently earn superior distinctions at both regional and state levels, with annual representation in All-Region Band, advancement to Area auditions, and selections to the prestigious Texas Music Educators Association All-State Band. In 2025, 100% of LCHS percussionists earned First Division ratings at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest; an achievement that reflects both instructional rigor and student commitment. The ensemble’s collective accomplishments further demonstrate sustained excellence. The LC Marching Percussion contributed to the band’s advancement to the Texas State Marching Band Competition in both 2024 and 2025. The Percussion Ensemble continues to distinguish itself on both local and national competitive stages, including: National Winner in the 2025 Mark of Excellence Percussion Ensemble Competition, Invited Ensemble for the 2026 Music for All Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival, 5th Place in the PAS International Percussion Ensemble Competition (2024 and 2025), and Grand Champion, North Garland Percussion Festival (2023, 2024, and 2025). These accomplishments underscore a culture of musical excellence built on access, equity, and high expectations. At Lakeview Centennial, student achievement is not dependent upon outside resources, but driven by intentional instruction, student leadership development, and a shared commitment to artistic growth.
