Performer Bio Synopsis

Since 1989, Spanish Brass has shared their music with audiences in over 60 countries, becoming one of the leading chamber music ensembles on the international scene thanks to their versatility and distinctive artistic identity. They won First Prize at the International Ville de Narbonne Brass Quintet Competition (1996) and have received major awards such as the Spanish National Music Prize (2020), the Bankia Awards for Musical Talent, the Espai Ter de Música Award and the Matilde Salvador Prize. Their recordings have also been recognized with several Carles Santos Awards. Spanish Brass performs regularly at major international festivals and has taken part in landmark events such as the Prince of Asturias Awards ceremony, as well as theatre and film projects for Spain’s National Drama Center and the production company El Deseo. Their discography includes 34 albums, reflecting a wide-ranging artistic output that also embraces educational and audiovisual projects. They are highly regarded for their pedagogical activity, giving masterclasses at leading conservatories and universities worldwide, and they organize four international brass events: SBALZ, Brassurround, iBrassCongress Bétera and CitGuad. Spanish Brass performs on instruments by Shires, Paxman, Melton and Romera Brass, uses Elite oils and lubricants and Bags instrument cases, and acknowledges the support of the Institut Valencià de Cultura and the Spanish Ministry of Culture – INAEM.
