Performer Bio Synopsis

Founded in September 1999, the Cobb Wind Symphony (CWS) is a premier community wind ensemble comprised of accomplished adult musicians from across the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. The organization was established to provide a meaningful musical outlet for dedicated instrumentalists in Cobb County and beyond, while advancing the performance and appreciation of wind band literature. Members benefit from high-level musical experiences, a strong spirit of camaraderie, and meaningful service to the community through performances in schools, concert halls, and outdoor venues. United by a lifelong passion for music, the ensemble rehearses biweekly at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia. Since its inception with 77 charter members, CWS has grown to 116 musicians representing a wide range of professions, including education, music, medicine, law, engineering, management, and technology. Collectively, members bring more than 4,136 years of performance experience to the ensemble, contributing to a distinctive and refined sound that enriches the cultural landscape of metro Atlanta. The charter committee and current Board of Directors include numerous alumni of the Lassiter High School Band and former students of Alfred Watkins. The Cobb Wind Symphony is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation supported through member dues, individual and corporate sponsorships, and grant funding. Cobb Wind Symphony Invitational Performances include: The Midwest Clinic (2003, 2011, 2018); GMEA In-Service Conference (2005, 2007, 20I1, 2015, 2023); CBDNA/NBA Southern Division Conference (2006, 2008, 2018); ASBDA/IET Festival (2015); UGA High School Band Festival (2004, 2010); and Joint Concert with University of GA Wind Ensemble (2026).
