Performer Bio Synopsis

Students at Arbor Creek Middle School are from the cities of north Carrollton, Plano and Frisco. Arbor Creek Middle school is a part of the Lewisville Independent School District and a proud feeder of Hebron High School. Band ensembles at Arbor Creek include the Beginner Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band Symphonic Band and Honors Band. Emphasis in each band class is on the total musical development of the individual and the ensemble. This is done through an instructional program that focuses on tone, technique, rhythm, sight-reading, music theory and ear-training skills. The curriculum of each class is ever evolving to meet needs of each individual student. All students have a place in the Arbor Creek band. The goal for all students is to continually grow and improve as player of their instrument and to successfully contribute to the ensemble they are a part of. All students begin band in the 6th grade in homogenous classes with an average beginner band enrollment of 120 students. After the 6th grade, students audition to be in one of three advanced bands (Honors, Symphonic and Concert). All students also have the option to be in the Jazz Band which is also a class at Arbor Creek. Band students meet during the school day for three 45 minute classes and one 90 minute class per week. Honors and Symphonic Band students have a once weekly sectional with their director. Students are provided the opportunity to perform in many different settings including concerts, pep rallies, high school football games, halftime performances, All-Region auditions, All-District auditions, Solo and Ensemble contests, UIL Concert and Sight Reading, and music festival competitions. The ACMS Honors Band has received unanimous first division ratings at the Region UIL Concert & Sight Reading Concerts and in other local festivals for over 25 years. The band has been a CC Texas State Honors Band Finalist in 2012, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2023. The Honors Band has also been named a National Winner for the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors Project six times. The Arbor Creek Band program has had two performances at the Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic (Honors Band 2017, ACMS Saxophone Ensemble 2019). The Arbor Creek Band students and staff are excited about the opportunity to perform at the 77th Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic and are humbled by this prestigious honor.
