Performer Bio Synopsis

The Sartartia Middle School Orchestra has enjoyed a celebrated history of excellence in the 20 years of its existence. Since the school opened in 2001, the Sartartia Orchestra program has earned Sweepstakes at UIL each year, been a TMEA Honor Orchestra as well as a Runner-Up, and finalist, received multiple Foundation for Music Education Mark of Excellence awards, performed at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, ASTA, and many more accolades. The program was started by Ann Victor when the school opened in 2001.

Conductor's Bio

Heather Davis is currently the head orchestra director at Sartartia Middle School in Fort Bend ISD where she led them to an invitation to perform at The 76th Annual Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Second Runner-Up in the TMEA Middle School Honor Orchestra Competition, and first place in The Houston Cup. She is the former orchestra director at Woodcreek Middle School in Humble ISD where she led them to consistent sweepstakes at UIL contest along with seven Foundation for Music Education Mark of Excellence awards. Heather is a sought-after clinician and judge in Texas, and enjoys working with students from the beginner level to the most advanced high school players. Heather holds a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from West Texas A&M University where she studied with Annie Chalex-Boyle and Dr. Keith Redpath of the Harrington String Quartet. While in Amarillo, Heather was a 1st violinist with the Amarillo Symphony and a member of the Amarillo Opera Orchestra. She was named 2nd violinist of the Permian Basin String Quartet and Principal 2nd Violinist of the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra during her time teaching orchestra at John B. Hood Junior High in Odessa, TX. Heather is married to cellist and Katy ISD - Jordan HS orchestra director, Kyle Davis, and they have a two-year old son, Grayson.
