Performer Bio Synopsis

Trinity High School, located in Euless, Texas, is a public high school serving grades 10–12 as part of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB ISD). Recognized as the most diverse public high school in Texas and the fifth most diverse in the nation, Trinity embraces a rich and vibrant cultural community. The Trinity Percussion Ensemble is a nationally acclaimed program known for its excellence in percussion performance. A two-time winner of the Percussive Arts Society International Percussion Ensemble Competition (2006, 2022), the ensemble was also named the 2024 National Winner in the Mark of Excellence National Percussion Ensemble Honors Competition. Trinity percussion students have consistently earned success at both the TCU Percussion Festival and the North Texas Percussion Festival, where the ensemble was named the Large Ensemble Division winner at the 2022 North Texas Percussion Festival. In addition, Trinity percussion students have performed at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest, with multiple students recognized as Outstanding Soloist recipients. The Trinity Percussion Cluster recently was selected as the clinic demonstration group for "Building Your Percussion Program from the Ground Up" at the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association Convention. Locally, the Trinity Percussion Ensemble has distinguished itself in area drumline competitions, most recently earning 3rd Place and Best Front Ensemble at the 2024 Lewisville Drumline Contest. The Trinity Percussion Ensemble remains dedicated to seeking growth and creating performance opportunities to share their musical talents with the percussion community.

Conductor's Bio

Manny Flores is the Assistant Band Director and Director of Percussion at Trinity High School in Euless, TX, where he oversees the percussion studio and the programs at its three feeder junior high schools: Euless, Central, and Harwood. Under his leadership, the Trinity percussion program has earned national recognition, including performances at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention as the 2022 International Percussion Ensemble Competition winners, as well as the 2024 Mark of Excellence National Percussion Honors. His junior high ensembles have also been featured at the Midwest Clinic and the Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival. Previously, Mr. Flores served as Director of Percussion at Southwest High School in Fort Worth, TX, where his ensembles performed at the UIL State Marching Contest, The Midwest Clinic, and the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention. Among their accomplishments, the percussion ensemble earned second place in the 2017 Black Swamp Percussion Ensemble Showcase Large Division, and the drumline received numerous caption awards and class championships at local contests. A native of Cedar Hill, TX, Mr. Flores earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington, studying under Dr. Michael Varner, Dr. James Yakas, Dr. Clifton Evans, and Dr. Douglas Stotter. His performance experience includes the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, Surround Sound Percussion, and professional sports drumlines for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and FC Dallas. Mr. Flores is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and the Texas Music Educators Association. He resides in Crowley, TX, with his wife, Amanda, their two dogs, Mikko and Archer, and their cat, Rimsky.
