Performer Bio Synopsis
Lambert High School, in Suwanee, Georgia, is under the direction of Tonya Mashburn, Executive Program Director of Bands; Kevin Morrison, Director of Wind Studies; Eric Brown, Director of Percussion; & Anna Steltenpohl, Director of Color Guard. Lambert is one of eight premier Forsyth County Schools System High Schools. The mission of the Lambert Band program is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive musical environment where all stakeholders may develop and thrive. The Lambert Wind Ensemble is the top of four skill-based wind band courses offered at Lambert High School. Other course offerings include multiple skill-based percussion classes, jazz band, color guard, and music theory.
Since Lambert opened in 2009, the LB has achieved many honors and accolades. Noteworthy accomplishments include invited performances at the 2023 Music For All Southeastern Concert Festival and the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference, four-time Bands of America Regional Class AAAA Champions, WGI Scholastic A-Class World Championships Semi-finalist Winterguard, multiple WGI Scholastic World Class World Championships Finalist Indoor Drumline, multiple Masterwork classification LGPE Straight-Superior ratings, 5-year record holder as having the most winds and percussion students accepted into GMEA All-State Band or Orchestra, and by-invitation performances in England, Italy, and the Bahamas.
The LB would like to recognize and celebrate the following people: middle school directors Dr. Andrew Poor & Mr. Nathaniel Hughes, South Forsyth Middle School, and Mr. Hunter McGee & Katie Larkin, Riverwatch Middle School. Conductor's Bio
Kevin Morrison is an educator, conductor, and pageantry arts production designer. He was appointed as the Director of Wind Studies for the Lambert Bands in Suwanee, GA, in the Spring of 2021. Before working at Lambert High School, Mr. Morrison was an inaugural Director of Bands at Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill, SC, opening the school in the Fall of 2019. During that time, the CRHS wind ensembles, marching band, and jazz studies programs achieved consistent superior ratings in wind band performance evaluations and multiple marching band high honor recognitions, including regional champions and SC 2A Upper State champions.
Before his time at Catawba Ridge, Kevin worked as a designer and educator for several premier band programs in North Carolina, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. His shows have won High Music and High GE awards on the US Bands Circuit and at the FMBC State Championships. His most notable collaborations include his time at Park Vista High School Band in Lake Worth, FL, and Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill, SC.
Mr. Morrison has been working with marching arts ensembles since 2012 and is currently the Visual Caption Head for the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps. He has also worked with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps, and has been a featured clinician and teacher leader for the Music For All Summer Symposium. Kevin was a member of the 2003 & 2004 Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2007 Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.
Kevin studied K-12 instrumental music at Auburn University and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. He later completed his Masters of Arts in Music Education from the University of South Florida and holds a professional certificate in composition and orchestration for television and film from Berklee College of Music. He and his wife Sarah currently live in Georgia and love to travel often!
