Performer Bio Synopsis

Located in the East Bay Area of California, the Dublin High School Orchestra/Band Program is award-winning and rapidly growing, while serving over 260 students. The DHS Chamber Orchestra has earned Unanimous Superior ratings at festivals across the Bay Area and toured Ireland in 2022, including performances in Dublin, and Dublin (CA)'s sister city, Bray. Members of the Chamber Orchestra are well-represented among the outstanding youth orchestras and all-state orchestras of California. With a retention rate of over 90%, the DHS Orchestra/Band Program is dedicated to excellence in every ensemble, including two orchestras, two concert bands, a jazz ensemble, marching band, four jazz combos, and winter percussion/guard. Members of the Chamber Orchestra are active in the music community, participating in community performances, chamber ensembles, and solo competitions throughout the United States.

Conductor's Bio

Elliot Polot has been Director of Orchestras and Bands at Dublin High School since 2018, when he graduated from college. Under Mr. Polot’s direction, every ensemble in the DHS Orchestra/Band program has performed to high acclaim and has raised the highest earned festival scores in school history each year. At DHS, Mr. Polot teaches Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Marching Band, while overseeing Winter Percussion, two Winter Guards, four jazz combos, an after school Jazz Lab club, and serving as Performing Arts Department Chair. Mr. Polot graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan, where he studied euphonium with Fritz Kaenzig and earned Bachelors Degrees in Euphonium Performance and Instrumental Music Education. He played in the Symphony Band under Michael Haithcock for three years and marched for four years in the Michigan Marching Band. Mr. Polot graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. He has presented at the state music education conferences of both California (CASMEC) and Michigan (MMC). He has served on the board of MMEA, and currently serves on the board of CMEA Bay Section. Mr. Polot was named NCBA's Young Director of the Year in 2022.
