Performer Bio Synopsis
A BCP recital is an explosion of energy and passion. The program is a selection of works from the group recording career showing, thanks to the variety of styles and the versatitily of the ensemble.
The concert begins with the well-known Jazz Suite that Pedro Iturralde arranged expressly for BCP . Then, it’s the music of the Austrian composer Alexander Kukelka that will give way to a festive atmosphere permeated with klezmer music. Also in this concert will be presented representative works from the last two albums, one with the complete chamber works for clarinet ensemble by Jack Stamp, and the other, an homage to the great Paquito D'Rivera with works dedicated to the BCP . The program will conclude with the music of the Australian composer Andy Firth, who writes in jazz style some of the most recognized melodies from classical music by authors such as W. A. Mozart or L. van Beethoven.
Innovation, Fusion, Interdisciplinarity or Pedagogy are some of the concepts that best define the creative line of the BCP. Their performances are characterized by meticulous chamber work and careful and energetic staging.
In their more than ten years of experience, they have commissioned and premiered prestigious works by composers such as Arturo Márquez, Paquito D'Rivera, Daniel Freiberg, Óscar Navarro, Victoriano Valencia, Rubén Darío Gómez, José Manuel López López, Raquel García- Tomas, Bernat Vivancos, Joan Magrané, Enric Palomar, Núria Núñez Hierro or Jack Stamp himself among others. In addition, they have shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Paquito D'Rivera, the pianist Marco Mezquida or the singer Pere Martínez.
To date, they have eight albums that present different styles, such as jazz, klezmer, flamenco, symphonic or avant-garde.
They have made numerous tours in the USA, Latin America or Europe presenting their projects and teaching master classes at prestigious universities.
They have appeared as soloists with formations such as the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, North Texas Wind Symphony, Banda Municipal de Barcelona, Banda Municipal de Palma de Mallorca, Banda of Bilbao or Symphony Concert Band of the UNAM, under the direction of Eugene Corporon, Tim Reynish, Luís Manuel Sánchez or José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana among others.
