Performer Bio Synopsis

The Wakeland High School Wind Symphony is one of four concert ensembles at Wakeland High School. The Wind Symphony is consistent UIL sweepstakes winners and a 2018 Foundation for Music Education National Wind Band Honors National Winner. The Wakeland High School Band serves over 225 students year-round through many performing ensembles including marching band, concert bands, jazz band, pit orchestra, full orchestra, brass choir, percussion ensemble and chamber ensembles. Band students spend time in the fall semester working on the annual marching band production as well as developing as individual musicians through the Texas All Region, Area and State audition process. Throughout the school year students are challenged as ensemble and individual musicians through the performance rigor of spring semester with ensemble concerts and solo and ensemble contests. The Wakeland High School Band is proud to work with students coming to us from the Cobb Middle School and Griffin Middle School band programs. Wakeland High School is named for Justin Wakeland, who served as the superintendent of the Frisco ISD for 19 years from 1978 to 1997. Wakeland High School is a part of Frisco Independent School District located in Frisco, Texas.
