How Use of the Alexander Technique Can Improve Your Quality of Life and Your Professional Performance

Clinic Synopsis:

Used for a century by those suffering from aches and pains and frequently used by musicians, actors, and dancers who want to improve the quality of their performance, the Alexander Technique helps users develop greater self-awareness and eliminate harmful physical tension from their bodies so that they can live and perform with greater ease and efficiency. In this session participants are introduced to some principles and applications of the Alexander Technique in an interactive setting.

Cody Gifford - Biographical Information

Cody Gifford, a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, studied the technique in Tel Aviv, Israel, and is a member of the American Society of the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) and the Israeli Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (ISTAT).

Mr. Gifford is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education (summa cum laude) and the University of Colorado at Boulder with the Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting. A student of Allan McMurray, Gifford is completing his dissertation for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Instrumental Conducting at the University of Colorado.

Mr. Gifford has taught instrumental music in Colorado and Israel. He is currently Conductor of the Front Range Youth Symphony in Arvada, Colorado and Band Director at Thornton High School in Thornton, Colorado.
