Technology on a Dime - How to Incorporate Music Technology in Your Classroom Without Breaking the Bank

Clinic Synopsis:

This session will focus on unique ways to include technology in any music classroom on a limited budget. Session attendees will learn about low-priced and open-source music hardware and software, cost-effective audio and video recording solutions, pursuing grant money, and other practical ideas that incorporate technology into a music curriculum.

Mike Fedyszyn - Biographical Information

Mike Fedyszyn is the Instrumental Music Director at Lake Country School in Hartland, Wisconsin, a K-8 school which is part of the Arrowhead Area School District. At Lake Country, he is responsible for three bands, a string program, and instrumental lessons. Mike is in consistent demand as a clinician at state and national conferences and seminars on the topic of technology as it relates to music education.

Mike’s primary instrument is trumpet; he currently is a freelance performer in the Milwaukee area. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UW-Milwaukee in music education. An executive board member of the Wisconsin Youth Band Directors Association (WYBDA), he is active in numerous other professional organizations, including the National Band Association (NBA), Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA).
