Latin percussion instruments are a vital part of the Jazz culture. However, too many musicians don’t understand the approach of using these instruments in non-Latin music genres. These instruments are a great source of color and add to the groove of many other styles.

Marcie Chapa, a noted and passionate percussionist, is gaining an international reputation. Her tenacious talent led her to pursue an early career in the music industry and to attend the illustrious New School for Jazz and Contemporary School of Music, in New York City. By eighteen, Marcie was performing professionally for crowds of thousands. Today Marcie entertains audiences from her home base of Houston to cities all over the world. Realizing her childhood dreams, her credits include tours with Beyoncé and performances with artists such as Michael Brecker, Jay Z, Clay Walker, and Kirk Whalum, to name a few. Marcie also gives back to the community, volunteering countless hours inspiring children and future musicians.
