Clinic Synopsis:

This presentation will feature artist performers and master teachers who will provide information and demonstration of techniques to improve your woodwind section (oboe, clarinet, and bassoon). The clinic will begin by covering basic concepts of tone production and intonation (posture, breathing, listening) common to each of the three woodwinds. The clinicians will then demonstrate their favorite tips, tests, and techniques addressing response, tone, and intonation individual to each instrument.

The Aria Reed Trio, Carol Lowe, Julianne Kirk, Anna Hendrickson - Biographical Information

The Aria Reed Trio was formed in 2006 by Crane School of Music faculty members -- oboist Dr. Anna Hendrickson, clarinetist Dr. Julianne Kirk, and bassoonist Dr. Carol Cope Lowe. The trio presents recitals throughout the state of New York and has been featured on the WXXI Live from Hochstein radio broadcast in Rochester, New York. The trio enjoys championing new works and presented its latest commissions at the 2008 (Provo, Utah) and 2010 (Norman, Oklahoma) conferences of the International Double Reed Society. In addition to new works commissioned for the ensemble, Aria's repertoire includes an ever-increasing array of works from a variety of styles and periods. Education is a crucial part of the mission for the Aria Reed Trio. The ensemble travels to schools across the state presenting clinics for young musicians, ensembles, and teachers.
