Beginning Brass: Establishing Foundations for Success

Clinic Synopsis:

This clinic will focus on establishing solid fundamentals for beginning brass students with specific emphasis on embouchure formation, mouthpiece placement, posture and tonal development.

David Brandon - Biographical Information

David Brandon is assistant director at Duncanville High School (Texas) where he is responsible for the honors band and the marching band. His groups receive consistent UIL Sweepstakes Awards, Best in Class, and Outstanding Band Awards, and his marching band received Bronze Medals in 2006 and 2010. He holds degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Southern Mississippi and began his career as an assistant director at Bammel Middle School of the Spring Independent School District. He also taught at Byrd Middle School before coming to Duncanville High School, in 2004. He served as the Region XX Junior High Chairperson and has been on the faculty for the annual “Music for All Summer Symposium” presented at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. Brandon is an active clinician and a member of TBA, TMEA, and the Phi Beta Mu Bandmaster’s Fraternity.
