Starting Beginning Flute and Clarinet Students: A Focus on Teaching Characteristic Tone Quality
- This clinic is geared towards college instrumental music education students as well as those new to the profession. The clinician will address how to teach flute and clarinet embouchures, how to visually and aurally identify and correct common playing problems. There is a focus on expecting characteristic tone from the first day of instruction.

- Lorie Enloe is the Associate Professor of Secondary Instrumental Music Education at the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. She has conducted the University of Idaho Concert Band and taught instrumental music education courses at the University of Idaho. She is active as a band adjudicator and clinician around the Pacific Northwest. She is a recognized expert in woodwind pedagogy, having presented at the Midwest Clinic in 2007, Northwest NAfME Conference in 2013, 2011, 2009, 2007 and Idaho Music Educators Association Conference in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Her book, "Teaching Beginning Woodwinds: The First Five Days" is being published by Sol-Ut Publishing in Chicago in 2013.
