Efficient and Effective Conductor Communication

Clinic Synopsis:

This Clinic specifically addresses five key areas and components that will immediately improve the quality of performance as well as musical expression of your performing ensemble. Dr. McCashin will discuss areas of Posture, Balance, Flexibility, Articulation/Gesture impetus and Density, and Facial Communication. This session is suitable for all conductors; Orchestra, Wind Band and Choral.

Robert McCashin - Biographical Information

Dr. Robert McCashin is the Director of Orchestras and Professor of Conducting and Violin at James Madison University. He serves as the music director and conductor for the Symphony, Opera Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Strings. Dr. McCashin earned the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in violin performance from Louisiana State University and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting from the University of Arizona. Dr. McCashin is an active writer/arranger in the string education field, publishing with FJH Music Co. in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Tempo Press in Ann Arbor, MI and Wingert-Jones in PA. He guest conducts and adjudicates at the state and national levels and is the Past (Founding)-President of the national College Orchestra Directors Association.
