Brandon Robinson

Dr. Brandon Robinson joined the faculty at Wake Forest University in July 2014. As Associate Director of Bands, Dr. Robinson’s duties include marching band (SOTOGAB), wind ensemble, symphonic band, jazz combo (OGJC), basketball and volleyball pep band, jazz saxophone studio, and Arranging for the Athletic Bands. Dr. Robinson is also the faculty advisor to the Kappa Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and was recently awarded “Outstanding Sponsor” at their 2017 national convention. During his time at the University of Mississippi, Dr. Robinson’s graduate teaching assistant duties included supervising student teachers, teaching MUS 103: Introduction to Music for non-music majors, and assisting the jazz ensembles. Prior to Dr. Robinson’s graduate work at Ole Miss, he served on the music faculty at Alcorn State University and taught in the public schools in Arkansas for twelve years. In addition to Dr. Robinson's teaching duties, he is a clinician, music arranger, marching band drill designer, and student leadership clinician throughout the United States (BERmusic.net). Dr. Robinson earned a BME (1995) and a MM in instrumental conducting (2007) from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR and a Ph.D. in music education (2014) from the University of Mississippi.
Dr. David Robinson currently serves as Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Appointed in 2012, he is director of the 43-member McMurry Marching War Hawks and the McMurry Wind Ensemble. His other teaching assignments include classes in conducting, music education, advanced theory, and saxophone. Dr. Robinson holds the DMA degree in Wind Conducting from the University of North Texas, the MM degree in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Missouri, and the BME degree from Arkansas State University. He is the conducting student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon and Thomas O’Neal. Dr. Robinson is both the product of and former band director in the small public schools of Northeast Arkansas.
