Program Building in Title I Schools

Clinic Synopsis:

Program Building in Title I schools will address the major challenges specific to working in schools in low-income communities. Attendees will hear about five major challenges of teaching Title I schools, discuss these challenges, and brainstorm solutions. Attendees will leave this session with specific strategies that have proven affective for building a strong music program in a Title I school, as well as a list of community resources they can tap into to help build their program.

Andy Bower - Biographical Information

Andy Bower is a 2012 graduate of West Chester University with a bachelors degree in Music Education. He has been working in the greater New Orleans area for the last seven years, currently as band director at Dolores T. Aaron (DTA) Academy, a PreK-8 school in New Orleans East. In addition to directing four ensembles at DTA, Andy is active as a performer, arranger, recording artist, and composer throughout the gulf south and his home state of Pennsylvania.
