Laura Bell - Biographical Information

Laura Bell is in her twentieth year in teaching and her fourth year as the Director of Bands at Stafford  Middle School in Frisco ISD, where she teaches a variety of beginner classes, the Wind Symphony and Concert Band, and assists with the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. Under her direction the Stafford Wind Symphony receives consistent first division ratings at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contests and local festivals as well as Best in Class awards. Prior to coming to Frisco ISD, Mrs. Bell served as Director of Bands at Reynolds MS in Prosper for nine years. During her time in Prosper, the Reynolds Band received consistent Sweepstakes awards at UIL, Superior ratings at several festivals in the DFW area, as well as numerous Best in Class distinctions. Under Mrs. Bell's leadership, the middle school band program in Prosper grew from 160 students when she arrived to over 500. She was named Reynolds Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2011.  

Mrs. Bell is a graduate of the University of North Texas percussion department with a degree in Instrumental Music Studies.  She is in high demand as a clinician in the area, having worked with fine young musicians in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Lewisville ISD, McKinney ISD, and various regions across the metroplex. She has presented at numerous education conferences and has recently co-authored a published article with Mrs. Lewis. Mrs. Bell is currently serving as the Region 24 Middle School Band Division Co-Chair. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Beta Mu, an honorary International Bandmasters' Fraternity.
