A Music Technology Curriculum You AND Your Students Will Enjoy!

Clinic Synopsis:

In this clinic I will share my approach to teaching music technology and specifically, how I teach my curriculum, which focuses on the film music industry. My course offers an easy to understand road map for teachers of all levels and most importantly contains meaningful contents that students in grades 6-12 will enjoy!

Gil Johnson - Biographical Information

Mr. Johnson is the orchestra director and music technology teacher at Richmond Hill High School in Richmond Hill, GA. Mr. Johnson has been teaching for 9 years and graduated with his masters of music education from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. During his time at Georgia Southern and inspired by his love of film music he developed a music technology curriculum for students in grades 6-12. Though the course has changed quite a bit since it's inception it has been a booming success at several schools in his area. Outside of teaching Mr. Johnson is an amateur film composer, competing in 3-4 contests a year to sharpen his skills for his students. He resides in Richmond Hill with his wife, Kathleen, their daughter Nora, and three awesome cats.
