Participants will consider strategies for rehearsal and concert cycle planning that focus on important curricular topics including: student-centered learning, equal access to instruction, concerns for the hidden curriculum, readiness for music classes, and impact of grouping of students on musical achievement.
Dr. Colleen Conway is Professor of Music Education at The University of Michigan. She taught instrumental music in upstate New York before beginning a career in higher education. She holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Columbia University and has written extensively on preservice and inservice music teacher education and curriculum for instrumental music.
