Open to all, this presentation combines research findings from different studies. The purpose of the first study was to investigate common themes and the essence of the female high school band director (FHSBD). The second study was a survey to collect quantitative data from a larger population. Current FHSBDs (n = 1026) in all 50 states and some U.S. Territories answered a questionnaire about their personal and professional lives. The results of both studies will be shared in this session.
