Clinic Synopsis:

An exploration of funding opportunities for the Arts. Join us for an engaging and informative workshop designed to empower teachers and administrators in their quest for funding. "Show Me The Money" will provide participants with essential insights and practical strategies for navigating the complex world of education funding, including the Title IV-A Grant.

Aaron Vogel - Biographical Information

Aaron Vogel is the Grant Program Specialist for the Osborn School District in Phoenix, Arizona. He previously worked at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) and spent over 20 years as a public-school band director, most recently as the Director of Bands at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona. His concert and chamber ensembles have been featured at the Midwest Clinic, the Music for All National Festival, and various state, national, and international conferences. His marching ensembles were consistent state contenders, earning multiple state championships and a Bands of America class 4A regional championship. Outside of his work in public schools, Aaron served on the brass staffs for Drum Corps International’s The Cadets, The Cavaliers, and the Blue Knights, and was a marching member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also an original cast member of the Tony and Emmy award-winning show Blast! in London’s West End. Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College (NY) and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mark Hodge - Biographical Information

Mark Hodge is the Arts Education Director for the Arizona Department of Education, where he passionately advocates for the integration of arts into the educational framework. With 28 years of experience as a successful high school band director, Mark has dedicated his career to inspiring young musicians and fostering a love for the arts in his students. His commitment to excellence in education has been recognized with the Teacher of the Year award on two occasions, showcasing his talent for creating impactful learning experiences. Mark continues to shape the future of arts education in Arizona, ensuring that creativity and expression remain vital components of the school curriculum.

Kelly Montaño - Biographical Information

Kelly Montaño is the Title IV-A Arts Education Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). As a musician and former music educator, instructional coach, and curriculum specialist, Kelly is an enthusiastic advocate for well-rounded learning experiences for every child. She has developed K-12 programming and curriculum for fine and performing arts, physical education, social and emotional learning, and gifted education in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Kelly is committed to providing relevant and impactful professional development and instructional support for teachers and school leaders to ensure that every student has access to high-quality arts education.
