We’ll explore practical frameworks for structuring middle and high school setup routines, improving rehearsal transitions, cultivating student independence, and helping directors maximize every minute on the podium.

Andrew Klein - Biographical Information

Andrew Klein is in his 17th year of teaching and 13th year in Burleson ISD, serving as Assistant Band Director at Burleson Centennial High School and Director of Percussion at Kerr Middle School. A native of Columbia City, Indiana, Mr. Klein earned a Bachelor of Music Education (Cum Laude) from Ball State University and a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Oklahoma State University. His bands and students consistently earn unanimous superior ratings and sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading, superior ratings at UIL State Solo & Ensemble, and multiple TMEA All-State placements. Since 2019, Burleson Centennial has advanced to the UIL State Marching Championships five consecutive times, been a four-time finalist, and has won high percussion twice. The percussion program has won eight NTCA scholastic indoor drumline championships, six cadet championships, a WGI Open Class World Championship (2017), and multiple appearances as a WGI World Class finalist. Kerr Middle School band and percussion have been featured ensembles at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival and Midwest Clinic, winner of multiple percussion festivals in Texas, and earned distinction as a National Winner of Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors and National Percussion Ensemble Honors. Mr. Klein is a member of TMEA, TBA, TMAA, and PAS. He lives in Burleson with his wife, Catharine, and enjoys traveling, golf, and time with their two miniature dachshunds.
