Larry Doran
- Biographical Information
Mr. Larry Doran has served as Director of Bands at Midlothian High School for 29 years. A native of New Castle, Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Penn State University (1990) and a Master’s in Percussion Performance from the University of Michigan (1991). An accomplished percussionist, Mr. Doran has performed with the Ft. Worth Symphony, Ft. Worth Opera, Ft. Worth/Dallas Ballet, and Dallas Winds.
At Midlothian, he directs the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band, and oversees the instrumental music department. His ensembles have performed at national festivals including the Western International Band Clinic, Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and the National MENC Conference, and have earned awards such as the Sudler Flag of Honor and national recognition from the Foundation for Music Education. Mr. Doran is an active adjudicator, clinician, and member of numerous professional music organizations.
