Grounded in measurable growth from a rural, single-director band program, attendees will learn replicable systems for increasing enrollment, demonstrating academic impact, securing resources, and building sustainable community support using engagement data, achievement metrics, surveys, and storytelling.

Matt Martindale - Biographical Information

Matt Martindale is the sole Director of Bands at Columbiana Middle School and Shelby County High School in rural Alabama. Under their leadership, this small-school program has achieved more than 100% enrollment growth, consistent superior performance ratings, national performances, and over $150,000 in secured funding. A National Board Certified Educator, Yamaha 40 Under Forty educator, a multiple-year Grammy Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist, and Music For All Advocacy in Action Award Winner, Matt Martindale is committed to equitable access, data-driven advocacy, and sustainable music program growth in underserved communities.
