Flute has a high learning curve compared to other instruments, resulting in varied levels in the beginning band classroom. This clinic guides educators on approaches to support new flutists with adaptations to challenge their more experienced peers. We’ll cover inclusive technical exercises, posture, articulation, and tone production in a sectional setting. We’ll also strategize ways to keep beginner flutists progressing while the rest of the band advances. Bring a flute if you can!

A former volunteer at music camps in Haiti, Meret serves on the advisory council for BLUME Haiti, an organization that promotes leadership through music education.
