Yamaha Flute and Piccolo Artist Tracy Harris presents a 1 hour session which includes a fully interactive PowerPoint presentation detailing her Top 10 most effective flute and piccolo teaching techniques. These proven and easy to apply techniques have helped create winning band/orchestral flute and piccolo sections nationwide. This clinic will empower and inspire music educators/players at all levels with Tracy's most innovative insider tips for teaching flute and piccolo performance techniques.

Tracy Harris - Biographical Information

Tracy Harris has been a Yamaha Performing Flute/Piccolo Artist and dedicated clinician for the past 15 years. She is a highly sought after soloist, chamber musician, flute clinician, author and adjudicator for national/international competitions. Tracy teaches students from all over the world who have won national and international competitions and is the flute professor at the College of the Sequoias. Performing internationally, Ms. Harris gives numerous solo performances, chamber recitals, clinics, flute boots, and master classes. She has soloed with symphony orchestras from the Santa Barbara Symphony to the Pacific Coast Symphony and has held many first chair positions including the Santa Maria Symphony, the Pacific Coast Symphony, West Coast Symphony and recorded for Disney studios and PBS television. She is currently Alto Flutist and soloist in residence with the Seqouia Symphony. Ms. Harris is the Artistic Director/Founder of the "Tracy Harris Flute Boot Clinics" which help over 1000 flutists each year. Ms. Harris is the author of "The Flute Boot Camp Manual - A Universal Guide to Flute and Piccolo" (Recipient of the Editor's Choice award), "The Lyric Flutist" , and her own customized fingering and trill charts for band students - all published by Wingert-Jones/JW Pepper. Ms Harris has presented at national band/orchestral conventions nationwide such as NAFME, TMEA, NYSSMA, NFA as well as SCSBOA and CASMEC. Ms. Harris records on the Elite Source Label and her latest CD's "Eklectick" and "The Lyric Flutist' recorded with her duo partner Svetlana Rudikova-Harris have won critical acclaim and feature new arrangements written by herself and Dr. Todd Harris. Be on the lookout for Ms. Harris' much anticipated new Piccolo Guide Book for Band Directors and her best selling book The Flute Boot Camp Manual for Band and Orchestra (published by Wingert-Jones/JW Pepper). Ms. Harris attended The New England Conservatory of Music, UCSB and The Music Academy of the West. Her teachers included; Julius Baker, Claude Monteux, Jim Walker and Jill Felber.
